Candy 6/18/08:
"Unless you know me in person, then you probably have certain pictures in your head of who you think I am, and you are probably wrong about some things. I think this is why some of the anti-Candy websites are out there, and I think that is why some of the comments I get are (to me) outrageous. I think when I don't fit the personality that people have assumed I possess, then they get angry, or feel let down. Thus, this article is to tell you a bit more about me, so that some people's miss-conceptions about me have more of a chance of melting away without someone being hurt or angry."
Yes, she used spell check. Well that helps a lot. I don't know, but I am coming to the conclusion that miss "hard as nails" Candy is softening up a bit. She has wanted to clarify who she was. Yes Candy, this one post is going to help me understand you. No Candy, this one post will not come close to change the image I have of you due to reading your blog. Honestly, I don't think I see much under her description that I didn't already know. She is a little more lax on the KJV and dresses only. I love the part where she explains that she is not good at "reading between the lines," and you just need to come out and say it, but then she doesn't post them. I guess as long as she understands it. Then she can interpret and decide on disseminating the information to her flock. She is even petitioning the congregation for their opinion of her picture profile. Isn't that nice of her? I guess this is giving the inch without allowing for the mile. She didn't really have anything about hating Catholics, though. She didn't explain about MENSA, ITU certified, or any of the other untruths that she has proclaimed in the past. That is the funny thing about the Internet and memories; they are very hard to hide from. I would love to say that she has changed my opinion of her, but there are still so many issues and weirdness associated with her that I still believe she is crazy. No update on the spider. This leaves me to wonder, did it really happen?

Why, we don't need an update on the spider bites....I mean, you don't doubt her healing methods, do you? Of course it's healed!

There were so many discrptancies (sorry, too lazy to spell check--guess I've been reading Candy too long) in this "clarification" post of hers. For instance, let us not forget these lines from how to be a proper lady:

"She wears beautiful, flowing, modest clothes (like dresses):

In like manner also, that women adorn themselves in modest apparel [katastole], with shamefacedness and sobriety; not with broided hair, or gold, or pearls, or costly array; -1 Timothy 2:9

Katastole - long, flowing garment. (Pants are generally not long and flowing)"

How can both that and today's post be true? Which is it, dear? You seem to have a direct line to God, you tell me: am I a vile, filthy harlot if I wear jeans?

Candy has waged a cute little campaign with this. She realizes that she is starting to turn off even people who agree with her world view. She has to manage to do some damage control or risk losing more readers. What does she do?

First she won't allow her detractors to criticize her openly. Her readers/supporters have to take her word for what is actually being said. It all comes through Candy's filter.

Second she mis-characterizes the claims against her. No one is bashing her for being happy and seeped in Jesus-Joy.

Then she manages to drum up a little sympathy (spider-bite).

Next she answers her imagined detractors while simply ignoring those legitimate claims against her.

Finally she tries to draw her community closer together to ask their "opinion" and help her out.

There is a big difference from a comment and a blog. The comment section does not have a spell check, but posting on your blog is one click away. You are not posting your comment on the headline of an internet site. I am with you on the dresses as well. I can't keep up with what is right. Did you learn anything new?

I know what you mean. The small amount of input (what kind of picture should I have) is an insult as far as a peace offering. I couldn't believe that she stated that people were angry at her for being "too happy." That is the biggest load of crap. People are mad at her for being so shitty to people. People are mad at her for being so judgemental. People are mad at her for giving Christianity a bad name. People are mad at her for being so evil toward other Christians that do not believe exactly like her. I mean to say a church of 20 knows the exact path is laughable.

One thing about her theology that disturbes me is that it presumes litteracy.

What happens if someone can't read the Bible and learn the truths of Christ from their KLV?

wow, looks like she deleted the spider adventure and the "run like the wind" post.

She sure did delete it. See, when people start uncovering her lies, she freaks and starts deleting things like it never existed. Her followers seem to buy into this concept too. It must be nice to live in the imaginary world of Candy.

Oh, she "accidentally" deleted it. Now she's posted a replacement spider post, complete with bite pictures that are supposed to be of her husband's bite. I'd bet that they're pictures off the internet somewhere, but what do I know.

Oh, there's more. I just read the comments in the new spider bite post. Someone said:

"...I have known 4 people who have been bitten. All 4 got severe necrosis. Two had to be hospitalized and one of them required surgery to repair the damage..."

She replied:
"Rebecca, I'd be curious if those people would have gotten necrosis if they did the heat therapy instead. 120 degrees kills venom protein.

I guess if someone reading this blog gets bitten, and if they decide to try the heat system, they can let us know if it works with them."

Yeah. If they don't DIE FIRST b/c they followed your "medical" advice.

lol...like you, i believe those are pictures off the internet. i think she is reading these anti-candy sites, as she calls them. it is starting to get her.

well, i have to go because i got bit by a rattlesnake a few minutes ago, but nothing a little boiling water can heal. ;-)

I thought maybe she was coming to her senses when she removed the spider post but then I saw it back up. Now it is all about proving how right she is.

Why did her husband take a picture of a spider bite and then again a few days later.

And one time...I remember reading a review on Amazon.com from her on a certain digital camera...I am quite sure it did not come with whatever she was talking about to take close up pictures.

I even know how to use my Canon Digital Rebel and I am sure she did not purchase a $900 camera.

Concerned Citizen, be sure and take a picture of the rattle snake bite after you treat the wound with 120 degree water and post another picture a few days later.

I really do think she does read VCL and this blog. How can you not?

Amanda #1 said...

At the very least, I'm certain she read VCL. She knows far too much about what is said there to NOT read it. And the fact that she posted pictures of her "spider bites" tells me that she must be reading this one, too. It's just a little too convenient that we express doubt in the comments and then, miraculously, a post appears addressing those comments. Although, she does have that direct line to God; perhaps he's whispering in her ear.

Also, her whole "I'm too happy" post, was directly in response to something I had written in the comments of VTC. I said I found it a little disingenuous of her to only post how wonderful her life is. Surely she has bad days, and yet she makes it sound as if you're a bad person if you wake up on the wrong side of the bed. You just have to DECIDE to enJOY life! And I'm wording it far snottier here than what I did in the original VTC comments. At NO point did I say she was "too happy", I just pointed out that no one is happy ALL the time.

At any rate, regardless of what I said or what she twisted my words to say, the point is that the ONLY way she could have known that I said that was if she was not only reading VTC, but also the comments.

I cant wait until her next post: How to remove a cancerous tumor from your brain at home.

She keeps going on about this freakin spider bite. She can't deal with the fact that she was wrong for posting medical advise so she keeps going going going.

Candy is a idiot.

I visited that website ("Fruit of the Spirit") via VTC today and it seems that she's a nutjob like Candy...in fact, I think we've got quite the Candy Clone here. I left a comment on her nutblog (regarding the assinine comment she left at VTC regarding the Catholic church being a cult) and she deleted it. Haha, what a surprise.

Here's my highly offensive comment that was just begging for the delete button:

first of all, I know the website you refer to, they don't censor comments the way candy does so i don't think you would have to worry about not getting posted unless you were cursing at somebody.

secondly, catholics don't get offended by the truth; they are offended by the lies people such as candy and yourself present as truth. you obviously were a poorly catechized catholic if you believe the nonsense candy spits out on her blog. try educating yourself, then the least you could do is disagree with what the catholic church truly teaches and not what you think it teaches. disagreement is fine; spreading lies is sinful.

Just want to let you guys know I will be out of the loop until Saturday evening. I will try and catch up, but I am incredibly busy at work. It is the end of the fiscal quarter and it is always hectic. I should be back up and running by tomorrow. Sorry for the delay.

The funniest thing about VTC is that they are in dire need of acceptance from Candy. They act just like her, but are offended by her. It is just insane. I hope Candy puts my home up on her web page. I will put her house on mine and will open with everyone her personal information for sure.
