The Brauer Meez parties are the place to be for entertainment....not a religious experience.

New topic people!!! This is a quick post and I have no time to proofread, so be easy! I am the third commentator.

So, I decided to see what a Meez party was all about. After finally getting in last night, due to overcrowding, I see eight people. Count them…..eight. It seems that is the limit she allows. Two of the eight happened to be Erik and Candy. Pick yourself up please from the shock. Candy was dressed in a purple, sleeveless “look at me” dress and I believe she had “look at me” hair too. They were side by side dancing. Candy would constantly use the remote for new music. Some lady was next to Eric and wouldn’t shut up for two seconds. She was going on and on about how she wanted her husband saved and asking Erik a thousand questions. It was borderline “hitting” on his Minutemann’s meez. Then, Erik and Candy start line dancing “rock” style. That had to have been the funniest thing I have ever seen. Their meez were throwing themselves around and gyrating and I know there is nothing in the KJV that condones that behavior. After that, Candy kept shouting different phrases. One was “consume us in your cleansing fire!” Then, someone came in and said, they were saved from being a Mormon and Candy responded how happy she was because Mormons have ties to Wicca. Seriously, Candy….Wicca? That woman is so off her rocker. Amanda showed up (not ours) and Erik and Candy started praising her. They told her how much respect they had for her for telling it like it is. Amanda just soaked it all in and thanked them so much. One meez started crying because the spirit was moving in there. The only religious thing I saw the whole evening was youtube religious videos. I seriously doubt any teenagers showed up either. If you have not been to a praise party, you must see one. It is worth the wasted time.

A pause for some Cat-o-lic irony..

Did you see the first entry for today, with the giant praying mantis?

Old Catholics like me will recognize the "Our Sunday Visitor" title as the one of an independent Catholic newspaper often distributed in parishes on Sunday mornings.

I hope you will all pardon me, but that was TRULY a 'laugh out loud' moment for me. Actually, more of a bwwwwwwwahahahahahahaha moment.

Now back to your regularly scheduled programming.

I'd rather clean your house with a toothbrush.

Natalie, come on over! I don't have my HMB up to date, though, so you'll have to figure out what to do and how to do it on your own.

And, I saw that title and thought it was going to be another Catholic rant too. I have OSV books and *gasp* coloring books. I'm relieved to know that coloring books during religion class are ok.

Well, since I am the epitome of a heathen and it's no secret, I can tell the truth.

We hit 11 bars this weekend, and I had at least one beer (usually more) at every one of them. (I do not drive the bike, I am a passenger. My husband has to do the designated driver thing, not me). We left home at 8am Saturday morning and got to our destination, 220 miles away, at 9:30 last night. We we were on the road by 7 this morning and got home just a little after 8pm tonight.

Obviously, there and back is 440 miles, not 650. But, you see, we had a lot of bars to stop at. Some old favorites, since we were in the part of the state where we don't get to nearly often enough. And we had to go through the scenic drives. And we had to ride the river road - along the Mississippi - about 50 miles out of our way because, well, just because.

I was kicked out of Candy's room because I stated that I love VTC and coffee with candy

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Ohh, I was just kicked out completely randomly!

I took a screenshot of the convo just before I was POOFED.

Well, maybe not completely random. I may have been kicked out for ROFL when Candy said Christians had better things to do than visit this site.

In all my time in Candy's room, under Milehimama or other name, I have never ONCE had the gospel preached to me at all.

It seems she's kicking out anyone not already saved according to her criteria.

She also told me it's none of my business what happens in the Titus 2 room.

???

and I can't get back in...I don't think she likes VTC or Coffee with Candy. Hmmmmmmmm

Oh you have got to be kidding me. I went to candy's room just now and was being very nice. She said something about how we all sat around talking about she was a size 2 and I replied that ONE comment was made about that. Suddenly I was banned from the room.

Yeah, her comment "AT least some of us are saved!" was so rude!

Especially because she made that comment BEFORE sharing any Gospel message, defining saved, or anything else. It was one of the first things she said when she took stock of the fact there was a sea of filthee Cathlicks in her room.

Perhaps she should post a statement of faith - TOP 5% ONLY WELCOME HERE - instead of the billboard for Ladies Against Feminism.

We've all been kicked out of Candy's stupid room. May I quote the Golden Girls? "We'll just try to pick up the pieces and move on.... I mean, there must be a support group for people like us."

She really can't stand the heat, can she? She says she can, but really... um, no.

Oh and Candy, if we want to get technical with your KJV Bible, you ARE supposed to be ready always to give an answer to people when they ask about your faith instead of running away. I Peter 3:15.

But, in your cherry picking you might have decided to black that one out, so sorry.

Anonymous said...

And, she really is bothered by people not thinking she's a 2 or 4 or whatever size she is this week.

Amanda #1 said...

This is way off the subject, but I was thinking about her reading "My Utmost for His Highest" to the kids. As someone commented, that's a little over their heads.

I think what bothers me most about what she reads to her kids is that it's ALL over their heads. I understand her premise, but I think she carries it too far. She wants to read to them from the "pure" KJV, go for it. But that, AND Pilgrims Progress AND Utmost? Do they ever get to read anything FUN? Dr. Suess? Shel Silverstein? You know--stuff KIDS read?

I feel increasingly sorry for her children.

__________________________

In regards to the rosary....since we know she read her, I'll address her:

Candy, have you ever taken the time to research what the rosary is really ABOUT? We're not sitting there just mumbling prayers. We meditate on the life of Christ while we're saying it. The rosary is prayer involving the whole self--body, mouth, and mind. I'm sure milehi would have explained that to you this weekend, had you not been so quick to ban her.

Oh well. Not everyone can be as secure in their salvation as us Catholics *<}];o)

I have a feeling that some anti-Catholic posts are coming from Candy..."sea is brewing." Candy is not even open to learn about the truths of the Catholic Religion. VCL & Coffee with Candy are excellent educational resources. Candy is so closed minded. I don't understand her HATRED! I was banned from the MEEZ room because I mentioned those two sites. My hypothesis is that Candy leaves a very lonely life and her life is the computer. I am sad for her. I must do errands.

Shalom, Sara

fargogirl said...

I have to say that I must be more stupid than I originally thought.
Because I had a relatively civilized conversation with Erik on Saturday evening, I thought I could continue that trend last night with Candy.
Silly me.
I was pretty appalled by her behavior last night. She jumped all over cajunchic the moment she showed up, and to me it just looked like she was needling anyone else in the room on to gang up on cajun with her. Cajun didn't do anything. She showed up and was pretty quiet. Candy started nattering on about how she doesn't trust cajun farther than she can throw her, that she is done playing games and will confront her enemies, etc. etc.
Then she laid into cajun about cajun saying something "vile" about her breasts. After which she made a frowny face.
That was it for me! TMI. I had to leave before I started either laughing hysterically or barfing.

sweepingthehome said...

She spends an incredible amount of time on the computer. I'll log on a few times throughout the day and it seems she always has a new blog post (EVERY day), a meez party, or something going on. I don't know how she does it. It took me a while to find the time to type up my last blog post (finally did it last night) but I'm sure it's because I don't type 180wpm and don't have a MENSA IQ...but still.

The only person that possibly spends more time on the computer than Candy is the windbag ANOA.

Anonymous said...

Oh, here she goes with the vile stuff again.

To Cajun, I'm sorry you had to be around the immaturity. Candy reminds me of the girls in high school. The ones that I'd laugh at back then and still laugh at. The "what you looking at?" types.

Since she "homeschooled herself" through high school, guess she didn't get the opportunity to be like that, and is just making up for lost time.

sweepingthehome said...

I was just pointing out that she seems overly bothered by it, you know?

I want to say, "Candy, we don't care what size you are, we just find it humorous that you're so hell bent on defending it."

I don't care what size she thinks ME fat butt is, why should she care when we speculate on what hers really is.

Her defensiveness just humors me to no end. She's like a land mine. One step and then, bloooey.

I don't know. This concerns me.

Is it just me or is there less people commenting on her site?

Just seems that way to me.

Of course, I would too, if after going into her Meez party, I got accosted immediately.

I know that we like to ask people who they are and if they've been over here, but I know with me, I do that so I can place someone, since some names are different.

But, at least we don't go, "ARE YOU FOR CIC OR AGAINST CIC!!!???" with a light in their face.

They have structured free time.

I spend a lot of time on the Net too - I work from home writing for websites. I also write about TV so the laptop and my desk are in the family room, attached to the kitchen. So they pretty much play all around me.

I'm used to multiple interruptions. My kids LOVE the little Meez people. So when I go to Cyberchurch, the whole family attends!

I also blog while they are eating.
Candy's house is relatively small, so I'm guessing she can hear or see them while she's on the computer.

Then again, I don't homeschool my 1 and 2 yo, so I have some extra free time.

Amanda #1 said...

But, at least we don't go, "ARE YOU FOR CIC OR AGAINST CIC!!!???" with a light in their face.

I'm picturing a Law and Order type interrogation room. *insert Law and Order "BUM-ba* sound effect* "Don't mess with me, Natalie. Tell me the truth. Are you saved? Do you believe that the 1611 KJV is the only real Bible? And most importantly, do you believe that Candy is a size 4?"

I noticed, as well, that her comments are way down. I've considered a couple explanations:
1.) Since only a limited number of people are allowed in her "Church", only a few people actually know what went on.
2.) Of course, it's also possible that her readers have a life that involves a REAL church with REAL people.
3.) Her minions are catching on that she is not all knowing, and may be more than a little off her rocker.
4.) Or she's getting tons of comments, but since they're not fawning and telling her how pretty and brilliant she is, they're not getting through.

Gee, Candy, that's the exact same reason why so many of us don't bother trying to talk to you.

Anonymous said...

And, what about the children? I just hope they don't grow up seeing hatred and feeling that it's okay to be that way.

I was like Candy... just like her when I was 20. What happened to me was going to college and being put on a ministry that ministered to people in inner city projects. That was a HUGE slap in the face.

I learned more from them than I could have ever taught them. I came in with my ideals and feeling I was just going to teach the world the way to be... what I got was a big ol' smack of reality.

I came home with the biggest attitude against all the legalism that I grew up around. I got over that, but I came out of it realizing that hatred and bigotry isn't the way to show people what God is REALLY like, not in a world filled with.. hatred and bigotry.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Intellectual discourse... and yet, she does not respond to any of the intellectual questions asked of her. There are several open questions from me on this site regarding specific verses, etc.

She promised to read my post on my blog about early Church worship. Indeed, someone from Yukon OK viewed it via direct link for 1 second. But there has been no discourse about it, intellectual or otherwise.

VTC and Coffee with Candy BOTH have intellectual discussions going on, and we know she reads there as well, yet she doesn't join the discussion.

Oh, she must have read that somewhere and had to write it down for future usage.

I've yet to see any from her.

I could see if we'd been going at it all night or all day and neither of us were budging and so decided to end it....but she gave me maybe 5 minutes at most.

Candy is intellectually immature. She is 30 going on 17. I have a medical background (nursing, nutrition, and public health) and I do see some pathology in her behavior and writings.

gary said...

Actually, 30 going on 15 year of age. I just read Amanda's site and I kind of link them together so the age just went down two years. It is a defense mechanism called projection.

Anonymous said...

Maggii,

It's ignorance and the fear of thinking outside the box. She's 85% assured of her own beliefs, IMO. Problem is, I doubt she's sat down to compare them to other beliefs.

Anonymous said...

Okay, okay, okay...

This is what gets me. She says in the comments here that she's really not the person that we think she is.

But, EVERY SINGLE INCIDENT just proves what we've been saying all along.

gary said...

Why doesn't she just stick with the homekeeping and recipes type blog. Though, she should not be giving medical advice which she has done in the past. Arrgggggg.

Candy is intellectually unable to debate religion. This has been proved by her total ignorance to the websites of VTC/Coffee with Candy.

She knows that she would lose in a open debate.

Anonymous said...

"She knows that she would lose in a open debate."

That's the answer right there. Or she's afraid that she would.

gary said...

Her easy way out is: "You are vile or sick." This is not debating. VTC and Coffee with Candy has the education behind the refutes to Candy. Candy continues to keep posting even though the answers are in the archives. It is so redundant on Candy's part.

I am Sara on my husband's account aka the Gary part.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

I wonder if she'd be brave enough to publicly preach the "truth" declared in her Meez church - that 95% of Christians who think they are saved are NOT saved at all.

I wonder how many comments she would have to delete and ignore if she did that?

It seems to me that would be a very important Biblical truth to preach - but it would make many of her loyal readers mad at her so I don't think she would ever do that. Boldly preach - unless it costs you readers. It's a seeker-sensitive website, IMO!

"age segregation and group clicks" (And, Candy, it's cliques, not clicks)

I can understanding wanting to home school because you want to give your kids a better education or the schools suck in your county or there's no good Christian schools or you live in a dangerous neighborhood.

But, I've never heard that one before.

Guess I need to send that article to my Child Psych professor in college who holds a PhD in education, has spent over 30 years in education, and would refute that immensely.

But, what does she know anyway?

Anonymous said...

OH yeah and she forgot to mention the other reason that she keeps her children with her in church. She talked about this a couple years ago. A little incident where the nursery workers found bruises on one of her children. Thank God (and I mean that) it was unfounded.

But, she has mentioned that that is one of the reasons her kids stay with her.

Anonymous said...

And, why does her curriculum always keep saying that she reads from the KJV Bible.

I grew up in a KJV home, but my parents didn't say, "Don't forget your KJV Bibles." or "Here's your KJV Bible."

It's just weird.

Amanda #1 said...

"age segregation and group clicks"

In my expereince, this is a part of life. For instance, I would Candy/ANOA/Fruit/Ginger a clique. I would say that Candy's minions have formed a clique. Every job I've ever worked at had cliques. There's cliques in college. Neighborhoods form cliques. It's a fact of life.

And I would say that age segretation is fairly normal, too. Now, I am a freak, b/c I've always been a "old soul" and related better to those older than me. But, for the most part, people hang out with others of similar ages. You have more in common with them. A single 21 year old and a married 35 year old with children aren't likely to have much in common.

So were Candy's children with her for CyberChurch?

Amanda,

I was going to go there and you went there for me. :o)

You're right. There are cliques everywhere, and it's a way of life, and you have different cliques to what you're interested in.

For instance, I have you all. Then, for my ship stuff, there's them. For my dog stuff, there's them. I have my old, OLD closest friends. It's all just what you're interested in. And, most of them are my age.

Sure, if you're not into what a certain clique is interested, you may feel left out, but you just find those who ARE interested in what you are and there you go.

Nowhere does the Bible tell us to send our children to Sunday school to learn of God. However, it does command us parents to teach our children about God:

None of these instances mention the children not being with their parents, or of the children being sent to nursery, Sunday school, or children's church.

Candy is WRONG!

Hannah gave Samuel to the temple as soon as he was weaned, to serve and learn about the Lord. She visited him once a year and brought him new clothes she had made. See 1 Sam 1:21-27.

David was taken from his father, Jesse, at a young age and put in the service of Saul.

Now, I keep my children in Church with me, too - but then again, our Mass is mostly worship. We have catechism/Sunday school at a completely different time from Sunday School.

But I don't pretend that the Bible commands that parents should never entrust their children to be taught by the Church.

Funny she should mention the stuff about there not being examples of children being excluded from the Christian life......

Kind of like infant baptism, eh?

All the arguments she uses about keeping children in church are true enough. There aren't many Catholic parishes that have 'nursery' and certainly not youth group during Mass. We DO keep our children with us during Mass. That in and of itself ought to make her start 'children's church' right there!

But those same arguments are the ones which support infant baptism. So which is it? It must be explicitly stated in the Bible to be valid, or it's ok to extrapolate????

Mile,

You're such a heathen Catholic.

(kidding, and you know that... I hope... but I still like to joke about it)

Hey, you be nice to us heethun Kathliks....we're the ones saving you a spot in the shallow end of the lake of fire!

Did we ever figure out who that other girl was yesterday? Oh, what was her name? She kept saying that she was a Cat-o-lick.

oh, that would be me, I think.

And now that wunderhubby has done his recon, rest assured that we won't be welcome at cyberchurch again.

OH, cool! Thanks, Another!!!

I have to disagree. I think that separating children on the basis of age is unnatural socialization.

I posted on this on my blog (caution: Shameless blog pimping ahead!)

I am not a heathen Cathlick, Natalie, and I resent that.

I'm a filthee Cathlick.

LOL about the antenna horns! It's a devil bug.

Thanks for all the good stuff to read this morning! I will have to read Candy's latest post later. I got sick of all the extra commas.

I stand most humbly corrected, you filthee Cathlick.

Wow, over 500 comments?! Lots of activity this weekend.

Well, from what I read about the Meez rooms, it is clear that Candy simply prefers to live in blissful ignorance. She has no interest in learning about the Catholic Church from Catholics because it would force her to 1. admit she is wrong and 2. not reject her husband's family. I honestly don't think she has an interest in teaching Catholics her version of the truth, but by engaging in these debates, she is perpetuating and strengthening her conviction that she is the only one who has authority on this subject. Is it possible to brainwash oneself? I haven't ever seen it, but if it's possible, I think Candy would be an excellent example of this.

I have really come to terms with her ignorance, but the one thing she does that makes my blood boil every time is this: Someone bring scriptural evidence forward to disprove what she says, and almost every time, she will respond with, "That is not what that verse means." For some reason, I just wig when she does that. Sometime I am going to put a mirror next to my computer to see what my face looks like when I am beyond PO'd. :)

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

I'm so tempted to often to go all Inigo Montoya on her:

"I do not think that verse means what you think it means"

Candy wrong? Inconceivable!

Teh, and if there's anyone who's the master at taking Scripture out of context, it's Mrs. Brauer herself.

Candy does not want to learn about the Catholic Church from reliable sources. I have pasted facts and rebuttals from VCL and of course, she does not post them. And then when I mentioned VCL last evening, I was "poofed" from the Meez room. I was actually surprised with that. I mean, I was sitting on the couch saying my rosary...

Do you all have the Catholic channel, I forget the name of it, and at times they put on the nuns doing their rosary?

That's so calming. I'm not even Catholic, never have done rosary in my life, but if I'm cleaning or on the computer or just want to watch it, I'll put it on. It's like Gregorian chants.

Just soothing, it is.

Am I the only one who feels that way?

And, forgive me if that's disrespectful to anyone.

EWTN - Eternal Word Television Network.

EWTN.

I have a CD of the rosary which I find very soothing when driving. OK, my 14 y.o. has his I-pod during these moments in the car. I have a collection of Gregorian Chants CD's. Need-less-to-say, if we take two cars, the son prefers riding with his father.

I am kind of a nerd in this regards. I have listened to Gregorian Chants since the 1980's.

Natalie,

Not disrespectful to me :) It is calming to me also. Meditation is wonderful. My grandmother was a Rosary prayer! Oh, she said hers first thing every morning and in bed every night. She would say them in French and had a 3rd grade education. Her Rosary was her favorite form of praying. I have her bible and in it she took an orange pencil color or a plain pencil and underscored the passages she read. I love thumbing thru it and wondering what was happening in her life that she turned to that particular scripture. I know that my pull to saying my Rosary comes from watching her. I am forever thankfull for that :)

Candy does not want to learn about the Catholic Church from reliable sources.

Well, of course she doesn't, because then she might have to (a) admit she's wronger than a wrong thing having a wrong day in Wrongsville, (b) apologise and stop spreading misinformation, (c) post a correction for the lies she's already told.

Which is, to be honest, a pretty daunting prospect for anyone, and gets more and more daunting the more lies you've told and the more misinformation you have to correct, and the more you have to think about it.

That's the channel.

Now, Gregorian Chants will put me to sleep, but not in a boring way, in a soothing way.

Chris is always like, "Why do you like watching the rosary so much?"

And, I tell him because it's soothing... duh. ;op

Hey! Inspired by the latest posts, I just turned on EWTN and they are showing a special on St. Clare and St. Francis.

Someday I want to write a movie about them! So of course I'm watching this one right now!

We have a Poor Clares monastery nearby....we have spent a lot of time up there recently...our Knights have been helping them with a fe handyman type projects and recently our Priest died ( he often said Mass for them ) and we have put in a small mediation garden for them in his honor....their property is huge and beautiful and peaceful..they have a bunch of trails that they can walk and reflect...one goes to a lake where they have a small shrine and can reflect and pray,...they are soo sweet.....we don't get to interact with many of them as they are a cloistered sect....but there are two or three that we can sometimes talk with...

Speaking of EWTN, I'm ticked b/c my cable provider seems to have done away with it. I kinda liked watching mass at 6:00 pm. And Mother Angelica was entertaining, too. Darn them all.
