Who is computer literate?

Anonymous said...

Well, it's gone now, but someone said that Elena usually only comments on the Catholic stuff at Candy's.

I wanted to point out that we really only know what Candy lets us know via comments. I wouldn't put it past her to not publish any nice non-Catholic comments by Elena to keep up the impression that Elena is only interested in attacking her.

Yup, all the Meez rooms have an 8 person limit.

Anyway. Maybe it's just an English thing, but this comment on her latest post made my teeth stand on end:

He really enjoyed it, and said it was such fun to review what he's so far learned about Richard the Lionhearted, John Lackland, and others.

It's Richard the Lionheart, not Lionhearted. From the Norman French, Cœur de Lion.

Those poor children, saddled with such a sloppy teacher. :-(

Ok, all, I rushed home as quickly as possible. I went to the coffee shop with my laptop. I have been gone all day and thought I could update everyone's meez links with a little caffeine. I went to Candy's site first to see if there was anything new, as I always do, and then came to this site. I always like to see what she has said, so I know what is going on here. I logged on to this site first and posted a new thread after seeing some of the filth on the last thread. I didn't read everything, but there was so much. I logged out and posted under Bru on the new thread. I then go to get caught up and someone had posted something disgusting at the exact same time I was posting under MY name. I freaked...deleted it....went back to the main page. I logged out and got back into Matthew's. I posted a new post to hang on a second and not post because something is strange. Then, posts start deleting. I get the guy next to me and he says, I have been hacked??? Is that possible? He told me to change the password immediately. I did. Put up a quick new blog, then left, came home and changed Bru's. Nothing has happened yet. Anything else strange happened?? I haven't gone through the comments. If they are still logged on and didn't log out, the new passwords wouldn't take effect yet, right???

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Who had the comments emailed to them, what were the last ones?

busymomof3 said...

I usually have all of the comments e-mailed to me but the ones from today are gone from my inbox!! I have all the ones from yesterday...but none from today!! What's the deal?

BRU said...

I am not computer savvy, but I remember people saying there is a way to get anything that has been blogged or commented. If you all show me where it is, I will repost everything, including comments.

Doesn't Starbucks have firewalls??? I have never done that before. I will say that our home computer had spyware put on it from someone's blog. I have NO IDEA whose, but my husband had to reformat and some other stuff to get it off. He actually, had told me to stop going to blogs. Are they not protected???

The last comment on the "Should have had that clause" post was from GW, a long one, that started:

Blog & Meez experiences with C & MM:
I first saw Candy's blog on Life with Christ. I enjoyed the homemaking & homeschooling posts. When she took her blog to Blogger it was pretty much the same as LWC. But after a while things started to heat up & change. I didn't agree with everything she or her readers said contrary to what some believed. I left numerous comments that I disagreed with C & some of her readers. A year ago my own journey started & I hopped on the bandwagon. TERRIBLE. I know! It was wrong of me as I already stated. I can not take back the things I blogged about.

The second to last comment was from Milehi:

I may have fallen to the floor in helpless Meez laughter after hearing about the "naturally large pupils". I can't help myself sometimes.

I do know that I saw other comments posted on that post before it disappeared. The emails are usually a comments behind.

busymomof3 said...

Never mind on my end. My inbox is full and I can't accept anymore e-mails until I go through and delete some. That's why I don't have any of the comments from today!!

GW, Candy has said that her son went to the store to buy M&M's. He was by himself. The cops thought he was on drugs because he has naturally large pupils. Minuteman stated that his son's pupils get larger when he lies.

That's all I know for sure - Candy told me that in the Chat room a few weeks ago (who else was there, I don't remember now? How I wish I had a Meez transcript!)

Ah, don't fool yourself, Ginger (**sarcasm**)

It is going to be hell to get back into it. But, once you find your groove it's going to be just another part of life to juggle and handle and work with. As with any other change in life it is just a matter of figuring out the best way to make it all work.

You went from one kid to more than one, right? (I don't know for sure, but I thought you had more than one?) In some ways, I bet that transition was barely noticeable. In others, it was probably crazy. But, it all smoothed out and now, it's just life. Fitting something new in is never easy, but it is most definitely doable.

The first two weeks or so I'd be willing to bet you'll want to pull out your hair and have tantrums. You'll be frustrated and overwhelmed. But, by the third week you'll think it's not so bad and by the fourth, it will seem like you've always been doing it.

I don't say that to make you worry or stress. Only to say that no matter how hard it may start out being, it does get better, it does get easier, and it does work.

If you have checked remember me on any of those logins or you have used autofill than yes, hackers can do that.

I've been gone for a few minutes. Can anyone tell me what time this all started happening?

BRU said...

I do not have auto fill. What do you mean remember you on logins?? I am on the phone trying to figure this out.

Amanda #1 said...

In the last 20 minutes or so.

Anonymous said...

bru, do you have antivirus/antispyware? Update them, then disconnect from the internet and run them. If they are up to date, they will pick up anything nasty you have been infected with.

then change your passwords for everything - this blog, your myspace and facebook profiles, etc. if at all possible, do this from a different computer to the one you usually use.

Amanda #1 said...

Re: remember me logins

Hotmail for sure has a box that you can check when you login that says something like, "Remember me on this computer." Other sites have them as well.

A couple of weeks ago a friend of mine found that everything she had/did on line had been hacked into. She was using an insecure wireless connection and someone nabbed onto all the info she entered that day. Including her banking info.

Is it any wonder I am still using hard wired DSL? Aside form being a cheapskate, I am a paranoid wuss.

busymomof3 - when I post on my blog it is there immediately. I use blogger.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

On Blogger, it will show up immediately, usually.

However, if you change the time, it will show up at whatever time you tell it to.

And if you start a draft, save it, and come back to it another day, it will publish ON THE DAY you first saved it. So it could be on last month's page or whatever, and not show up on your front page!

Go into your blogger dashboard, click "edit posts" and you can filter by scheduled, published, and draft.

Amanda #1 said...

Cajun, fwiw, you didn't miss a whole lot. Some legitimate filth (not imagined "Candy filth") from ILCB, but not much of real substance.

Nicole said...

Wow I would be ticked! It has happened to me through my email before and it was a pain in the behind to fix.

To answer Milehi's question that was posted from the last post. I was there when she talked about her son being picked up. It was an odd story. I can not imagine cops just taking a kid in because he has big eyes. I have heard a lot while working in bail bonds but that is over the top.

BRU said...

Ok, the laptop is going now. When I post a blog on here it is immediate. I posted two quickly, but they disappeared, as quickly as they went up.

I am not sure Candy is smart enought to hack?? Maybe, I am not giving her credit, but I feel sure it wasn't her. I just don't think she is that bright and Erik either.

The funny thing is that my home computer, DSL, is what got something off of someone's blog. I was on a laptop at starbucks.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

I didn't say so at the time, but most cops know the difference between drugged out and large eyes.

Especially in a small child (how old was he, 6 or 7?)

I'm off in a few minutes for the night. I will be back in the morning, but ya'll take this post and run with it and I will catch up tomorrow.

Are we in fact underestimating Candy's computer ability? If she spends alot of time on the computer (which she does and has for years) it wouldn't take too much effort to figure out how to hack!!

You have spyware istalled on you webpage waiting for someone who doesn't update AntiVir daily and their computer runs on Vista, how easy would it be for the hacker to get your info?

Today there were some posts that brought Candy's character into question. The situation with editing Elena's comments. The freaky Meez room visit. There was a question about CPS. The moronic comments left by Ding-Dong (a huge Candy supporter).

Now, if I was Candy., I would want to somehow hope that a moderator from this blog would look at my webpage, that moderator had Vista, and they hadn't updated their AntiVir today. How many people use Vista? How many moderators are there here? What are the chances that everybody here updates AnitVir daily? It looks like here chances to hack into here are pretty good!!

She didn't post on her page until a little while ago. Her posting said she had some major projects she was doing today...she needed to get off. Really? Did she have major home projects? Or were they computer related. It's mid-afternoon...wouldn't you start your major projects earlier in the day to you would have the house clean and supper ready when wonderhubby got home from work?

Keep this going guys!! It's not entirely out of the question that she could have done this. And, it's not entirely out of the question the Ding-Dong may actually be Candy. Candy didn't post until Ding-Dong got off of here. Maybe she didn't want to take the chance that someone would recognize her style of writing in Ding-Dong's posts?

Something to play with for the evening!!!

I saw it happening 'live'. As I was refreshing the page *poof* another post title in the sidebar disappeared. It was almost as though someone was online at that moment taking out posts. And then they stopped.
What was with the post deletion? Does that just 'happen' when a blog is hacked, or was that deliberate?
I'm wondering if 'someone' wanted to get rid of all these posts?
Hmm, it all seems rather sinister. the plot thickens.

BRU. Hope all is settling down your end and you've managed to batten down the hatches. Let us know how you get on

Mom said...

I just don't get Candy. Doesn't she believe in not bearing false witness? How can she alter someone's post (Elena's) to change its content/meaning and claim to behave in a Christian manner?

angie said...

My thoughts are that Candy is starting to really feel threatened by the talk that goes on here. She is seeing people change their minds about her, and being that she is so controlling about what people think, I think that scares the you-know-what out of her. I think it's very possible she, or a friend of hers, found their way in and removed those posts.

I do not think ILCB is Candy. I think part of the reason she would want that last post gone is all the filthy stuff he had to say in the name of loving her and her blog. I'm guessing she was cheering him on at the beginning but wouldn't want to be associated with his porn-star wannabe comments.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Well, well, well. Candy has changed her mind about her ruthless editing procedure and Elena's comment is gone altogether.

Good thing Anonymous showed up and posted the link!

Clare@ BattlementsOfRubies said...

I've just gone back and looked at the comments (in my email) When it was going mad and the posts were disappearing BRU changed her password. I'm guessing that that is when all the post deletions stopped because the 'mystery hacker' could no longer get access.
It just seems bizarre to me that any old anonymous hacker would bother to delete silly old blog posts. Surely he would be using his precious window of opportunity to get passwords for bank accounts etc?

Speaking of which, it really was a window of opportunity, and had BRU not been online when all the weirdness started to happen, I'm guessing the hacker could have taken down the entire blog.

In which case, thanks for the heads up hacker! But that was your unique and last oppo. I'm guessing the back door will be firmly bolted from now on!

angie said...

"I just don't get Candy. Doesn't she believe in not bearing false witness? How can she alter someone's post (Elena's) to change its content/meaning and claim to behave in a Christian manner?"

Because her version of being a Christian is different than most. She thinks because she knows her bible backward and forward and she has a following that thinks she walks on water, she can say or do whatever she wants and be right.

What I just can't figure out is her failure to recognize that there is that chance that she is wrong and therefore ignores how that might affect her personal salvation. If the Catholic Church is indeed Jesus Christ's bride, how will God view Candy lifting up her dress to take a big dump on her just about every single day on her blog? Sorry if that was crude, but it is the analogy that just sticks in my head these days as she has become more consistent in making her remarks ridiculing the Catholic Church and those that belong to it.

Clare@ BattlementsOfRubies said...

Angie. My thoughts precisely. When I hear certain 'christians' refer to the catholic church as the 'Whore of Babylon' I remind them that if their fallible understanding of scripture is wrong, then they are calling Christs beloved bride a whore.
Their arrogance in this respect really unnerves me.

Ok, I only have a few minutes because I am leaving. My husbands laptop is a mess. There was nothing on there but his work stuff. All our banking, etc. is here, so that is terrific for us. I explained what I was seeing on my end. I am not sure the password change stopped it or the fact they realized, I was realizing something was going on. If they were already "in", why would it matter if I changed the password?? I figured it wouldn't matter unless they logged out and tried to get back in. Which is possible. I don't know...this is mind boggling. I have to go, but will be back on tonight. I really would like to figure this out.

BRU said...

Butterfly - I just emailed you.

If Vera were going to delete a post, don't you think she would delete the one "on my last nerve" that upset people? Plus, I know for a fact she is out of town and has no internet access.

Ginger. I just don't think that sounds remotely credible.

Bru. I think your password change would have made a difference even if the hacker was already 'in' and in the middle of activity. I'm thinking that it would be like logging in and logging out. Your password change would have 'logged out' the hacker. But only you were able to log back in.

I'm very glad that your financial stuff is safe.
I thought it was creepy when candy posted all that stuff about being able to find out where Elena lived etc. But this is very unsettling indeed.

Changing your password periodically may help. Just a suggestion.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

You may want to get Haloscan for comments. You can see the IP of commenters, and it's easy to edit/ban etc.

Also, the comments are kept on the Haloscan site, so EVERYTHING wouldn't be lost in one fell swoop.

I feel sorry for her. She has to fish for compliments to make herself feel better. She has to watch online movies instead of really going out. Her kids are trapped in that trailer all day while she sits in front of the computer or is rotting some new food product. Does she have any friends? I think she has to keep bashing catholics to try and have a purpose in life. Obviously, being a mom and a Christian isn't enough. She tries to build herself up by tearing others down.

Oh dear. I'm obsessing a little here. One more comment and then I'm off to bed.
Bru, you said this:
"I logged out and posted under Bru on the new thread. I then go to get caught up and someone had posted something disgusting at the exact same time I was posting under MY name. I freaked...deleted it....went back to the main page."

Am I reading this right?
Does this mean that the hacker actually tried to put a post up?
Can you remember what it said? Did you keep a copy (unlikely I know, given that you were freaking out)

Can someone PLEASE clue me in on what is going on?? I took the family sightseeing all day yesterday and it appears all hell broke loose. What is going on???

busymomof3 said...

anymommy,

During the day...things got really interesting with the comments here. ilovecandysblog was making vulgar and insulting comments about the posters here. It went on almost all day.

Bru logged on then someone (Candy or Candy Cult Member?) hacked into this blog and conveniently deleted all of the comments made by ILCB and others.

When Bru changed the password the deleting stopped. Now we have a mystery on our hands.

Things are heating up here!! I for one so enjoy a good mystery!!

anymommy said...

I am very disappointed as one of the deleted comments was my letter to Candy telling her how she is driving me back to the Catholic Church and starting a blog for others' stories as well. I'll just have to repost that!

Hmmm...Do you think Erik is behind this?? Mr. said he was really intelligent, although in a creepy kind of way. Candy is rather computer savvy, though, as well.

I wouldn't put it past either of them.

busymomof3 said...

I'm don't know. But IT would be in her best interest to get rid of those comments made yesterday. There were alot of thought provoking comments made my other posters. For example, Candy edited a comment by Elena to make it look like Elena gave her the info on her latest anti-Catholic rant. That was discussed.

ILCB is a Candy supporter and he/she was getting extremely nasty. That wouldn't do Candy any good to be associated with a potty mouth.

A new commentor posted about a weird experiece in Candy's Meez room. That was just getting started when the mystery hacker started deleting.

And a conversation about CPS was getting underway also.

We know that Candy and Candy Cult Members read this blog. Who would benefit more from deleting those posts?

Clare@ BattlementsOfRubies said...

I'm interested in hearing more from Bru about the post that was being written up and other strange happenings her end. That might shed a little more light on this.
A regular hobby hacker would surely not be interested in stuff like that.
Candy and Erik have an awfully big motive.

anymommy said...

If Candy and Erik were so upset with the information on this site that they blackmailed Mr. by threatening Erik's dad with taking away his seeing the children, they they are definately capable of a desperate act like hacking in.

Oh, what a tangled web we weave when first we practice TO DECEIVE!!

Have to make breakfast. I can't wait to see what unfolds today...

busymomof3 said...

I know someone who is in the Internet Security business and they told me this.

There are basically three types of hackers.

Hacker 1- A professional hacker who in only intersted in back accounts, credit card numbers, etc. They don't bother with blogs like this. The want banks or they even hack into govt. sites, etc. for financial gain hoping to come across classified info.

Hacker 2--A hacker who hacks just for the heck of it. They just want to wipe someones computer out. They again aren't interested in blogs. They go straight for the hard drive and operating systems.

Hacker 3--A hacker who has a personal agenda. A disgrunted employee. An ex-friend. Someone who has an ax to grind. Someone like this hacks into a system to target something specific. For example, this blog or a company or a school.

I was told that we are dealing with Hacker #3. So...who do we know that would be terribly upset by the existence of this blog?

BRU said...

I got you both.

busymomof3 said...

I was told that to hack into a system you only need a few things.

Knowledge in computer programming or access to a file sharing site that gives you a pre-made program for hacking. Both of these are easy to obtain.

A chance to get into an unsecure computer. Via a router or laptop or even an outdated Anitvirus system. Most people DO NOT update their virus software daily unless there software is set to automatically update.

Your intended target has their passwords and usernames automatically set up on their computers.

This applies to 85% of all personal computers.

Scary stuff.

Maybe it's just my opinion of her clouded my interpretation of that, but I almost felt like she was bragging. Like, "Oh my new looks is so pretty, but because I am so smart it took next to no time! Tell me how fabulous I am!"

But, I'll totally admit, she might not have meant that at all, and it could be all in my head.

I was reading her course of study for her eight year old. She listed Great Expectations as a reading book.

WTFrito? Are you kidding me? An eight year old is not capable of reading that kind of material!!

In my honest opinion, that book is too deep for high school students much less an elementary student. College students need to read that book. It's over 500 pages long and it's written for the mature reader, not a kid.

Oh!! She gets on my nerves with her lies!!!

busymomof3 said...

Please, please take your blinders off!! In the famous words of your cult leader "just because it is said doesn't make it true." That applies to Candy also!!

Stacy said...

In a search of Amazon for both "Richard the Lionheart" and "Richard the Lionhearted" I got a lot of book and other item hits for the first, and a bunch for the latter, but the latter brought up many more books that are out of print.

Searching in Google for "Richard the Lionhearted," I was asked if I meant to type "Richard the Lionheart." I was not asked about Lionhearted when I put in Lionheart.

So, it appears that Lionhearted is not correct (as was pointed out here), but publishers and others do not necessarily use the correct form. Interesting.

Stacy said...

Yeah, both her reading post and her look at my new look posts were looking for praise and bragging. They both drove me crazy. I clicked on a random book in her sidebar and it popped up a 140-page PDF with cartoon pictures. That isn't a book, in my opinion. I know most of her books aren't like that, but still...

And some of her ideas of what her 8 year old can read are way out of his reach.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Heh, ego.

Candy has said that even if she were to be lead to believe that headcovering was necessary, it would actually be more modest to go bareheaded, because she looks so good in a scarf.

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Well, my 6 yo read Crime and Punishment.

Using it as a flat surface for coloring on the couch counts as reading, right? Right???

Amanda #1 said...

And some of her ideas of what her 8 year old can read are way out of his reach.

My mom's a librarian, and this whole conversation reminds me of something I heard a lot growing up: reading and comprehension are two different things. Sure, I probably could have read Great Expectations when I was 8. Would I have understood it? Hell no. I'm more than a little concerned that her brilliant plan is going to back-fire on her: by forcing her kids to read books that are far beyond their comprehension, she's going to raise kids who hate reading.

angie said...

milehi- who is MM? I haven't ever done the meez thing.

I also have noticed Candy's incessant need for praise. Wouldn't that be considered sinful? A new background on a blog- how hard is that? Is it any more complicated than putting up a new screensaver on your own PC? Even I can do that, and I'm the computer is not my strong area.

Do you guys remember any mention whatsoever of Candy's real-life friends? Does she have any? I remember a while back a blogger friend visited her at her home, but I can't recall lately if that same friend has even commented on Candy's blog in a long, long while. If her social life is solely wrapped up in her computer , then that might explain her excessive dependence on being emotionally fed there.

I have also wondered why she never talks about her kids. She talks about how she disciplines them, what she is using for hs'ing, but you never hear those sweet stories mommies usually pass on about their children.

Clare@ BattlementsOfRubies said...

I'm not convinced she actually reads the real books, just watches the dvd's ( every single version ever made...?) If she was that well read her written English would be considerably better than it is.
Anyway, I'm grateful to candy for giving me an excuse to use two of my favourite words: Grandiose and Fabulation.
Love those words!

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

Angie, MM is Minuteman, aka Erik, Candy's husband.

I did notice that she doesn't post pics, etc. anymore. I was looking at her "A Day in the Life of Me" and some of the pics are so sweet (even if they are etched.) One in particular was just lovely - she was holding her daughter and playing with her.

I'd much rather see that then quotes to the supernut Chiniquy!

Year 3 in the Ambleside curriculum has some Charles Dickens works, and it looks to me like she just ran with that theme.

Anonymous said...

Who was that friend that she spent the day?

That is when she got the new swimming suit and they went to a park with those sprayers and it was really windy and then they went back and listened to music and then stayed up late and then had a big breakfast and then went to church....

I really do need to get a life.

Anonymous said...

Right on Amanda; that was what I was going to post in response. Sure, a young child can read the words. That does not in any way mean that child has any grasp of what he/she is reading. Nothing is being learned from it.

Just like if I were to read a book about nuclear physics. Sure, I could read the words. But, what good would that do me? I know nothing of nuclear physics and would get nothing out of it.

The poor kid probably "loves" reading because it keeps his mother out of his hair. Kids learn tricks of survival at very young ages.

Stacy said...

Makes me wonder if she has read the books before she puts them in her curriculum.

Reading vs. comprehension is very important (coming from a former science educator with an interest in literacy). I read a book at one point called "I read it but I don't get it." That book was very interesting, and many students I taught had no idea of the difference between reading the words and reading the book. Hopefully Candy is teaching them the difference.

When I was 11, I tried to read "Around the World in 80 Days." My teacher gently suggested I get a different book from the library, but I was too stubborn. I should read it again. :-)

Amanda #1 said...

When my mom has kids at the library who want to take out books that are obviously beyond their comprehension level, she makes them sit down, read the first page, and then tell her what they just read. That's usually enough to deter them *<}]:o)

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

I think perhaps Candy misunderstands the Well Trained Mind/Ambleside philosophy, or just jettisoned it because she doesn't approve of abridged versions.

The Classical model as outlined in TWTM, is for a repeating cycle of history/literature.

Example, year 1 is ancients (up through 400 AD) year two is Middle ages (400-1600), then 1600-1850, then 1850 to present. In year 5, you start the cycle over again, but more in depth and with "older sources". Year 9-12, you go through the cycle AGAIN, but use ORIGINAL sources.

So, year 1 (1st grade), you might find a picture book about the Trojan War. Year 5, you'd find a chapter book, maybe investigate the clothing and armor of the Greeks, etc. Year 9, you would read the original source - Homer's Iliad and Odyssey.

But since she is above using children's versions and watered down sources, she just jumped straight to the Big Leagues, so to speak.

At least that's the impression I get... we use the same curriculum for history/lit.

busymomof3 said...

I don't think she really reads this stuff. If she pre-screened some of this stuff before handing to her children...she wouldn't expect them to read it.

Again...Great Expectations is to far advanced for an 8 yo to comprehend!!

If she had did a little research on Richard the Lionheart she may not have let her son learn about him at an early age either. Richard was worthless outside of the battlefield. He was pompous and arrogant. He loathed England. Didn't care anything about it or it's people. He considered himself French. He massacred thousands of innocent people in Acre. He cheated on his wife. And the kicker is that some scholars say he was a homosexual. These scholars say there are actual hisotrical documents that prove this and that it was rumored he was the lover of Prince Phillip. That may be the reason they become bitter ememies later in life.

Kind of goes against everything she proclaims to be about, right?

Milehimama @ Mama Says said...

And he is most famous for leading the Crusades...

Anonymous said...

Why does it matter what she is reading to her children? This year as a family we are reading Pilgrims Progress together, it is unabridged. I know my 6 and 8 year old wont get most of it and my 12 year old it would be lost over his head, but my 13 would get it for the most part. She has a workbook for it. However, we are reading it as a family to discuss it, from the little stuff to the intense stuff. I have an uncle who read these type of books to his children from their babyhood to now, even now, when his children come home to visit they read a classic before they head to bed. Just a few chapters but they still as college students do it.
To pick on what she is reading her children is a bit ridiculous to me. If you want to pick apart her Catholic knowledge go for it. But what she is reading to her children just seems childish to me. I am in the need to can so go ahead and throw them tomato's.

busymomof3 said...

I think that is the only reason for learning about him. She read the word "Crusades" and that did for her.

She must have said to herself "Oh! He lead The Third Crusade. He MUST be a godly man!!"

Again...Jim Jones could recite the Bible verse for verse and he wasn't a hero!!

busymomof3 said...

Ginger,

I wouldn't be such a big deal if she had teenagers. But her oldest is 8. And even if it was a family read along...who's going to benefit from reading an advanced book like Great Expectations? Not children 8 yo and younger.

I'm currently reading Maternal Child Nursing Care. Even if I CHOSE to read that aloud to my kids (oldest is 12), they wouldn't get it. And, they wouldn't retain it. Why? Because they are not at the point of maturity to comprehend the material.

If she wants to introduce classic literature to her children, she needs to pick more age appropriate books.

That post did not say anything about her reading that book. It was one of his reading books. Don't you think that she would have made a seperate section in her homeschooling post for family reading list?

Anonymous said...

Do you guys remember any mention whatsoever of Candy's real-life friends? Does she have any?

Candy used to have an article up where she said that godly women didn't have close friends because they took their focus away from their husband and home.

She also said you should avoid fiction, because reading non-fiction is reading to improve your skills as a homemaker.

I would guess that the classics she has on her list are okay, because she's improving her education for the homeschooling part of parenting.

She is blatant in her hatred for Catholics. But it is these subtle clues (reading lists for children) that clue a person in on how she misleads people who read her blog.
